Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine whether information support systems are effective in alleviating the effort of driving and helping to avoid accidents in elderly drivers. In this study, the experiment was carried out using driving simulator. Navigation was performed under two test conditions: information support was either present or absent. As a result, information support relating to static items such as road signs and traffic lights during driving only has a small effect, and could potentially be a cause of accidents due to information overload.
