Abstract :
Delay Tolerance Network is a complete wireless network. In DTN there is no base station as present in existing wireless networks. To deliver a message DTN uses store, carry and forward Policy. There are a number of nodes present in the environment as some of them are malicious nodes. In this research paper an attempt has been made to discuss the role of the selfish nodes. A selfish node is a node which drops all messages which are received to save its own energy. To detect selfish node, a refined methodology has been proposed to calculate the selfish degree of the nodes and compare theme using cooperative function. The proposed scheme can be implemented in a fully distributed manner to thwart various attacks without relying on any tamperproof hardware and software platforms. The vulnerability of the above mentioned schemes is simulated using ONE simulator.
