Abstract :
This paper presents an optimum design for a low-voltage, low-power DC-DC converter which has a controller and integrated CMOS switches using a small size inductor (1 μH). Optimum design for the single chip DC/DC converter is achieved by analyzing the amount of conduction and switching losses. Through the loss analyses, it turns out that a constant frequency hard switching PWM converter with synchronous rectifier is most suitable among the several kinds of DC-DC converters for low voltage and low power applications
