Abstract :
A 12 MW, 100 kW modulator has been designed and built at Titan Beta for use in the Titan Scan Industrial Electron Linear Accelerator System. This system is designed to operate for over 7000 hours per year. The modulator is PLC controlled and monitored by computer and is designed specifically for long life under continuous operation. It also is designed for ease of maintenance and low noise both electrical and acoustical. This modulator is based on a 12 MW, 60 kW unit that has been operating in Denver, CO for the past two years. The design and test information is discussed.
