Abstract :
Grid interconnection of distributed power generation (DG) such as photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems to distribution systems is important to prevent islanding operation of DG to keep the safety. However, since dead zones exist in the islanding detection devices, detection time may be delayed. In this paper, we try to evaluate possibility that power flow stays in the dead zones. And we propose an islanding prevention method by avoiding the dead zones using a static var compensator (SVC).
