Abstract :
In a wide range of practical applications in electrical engineering, quasi-stationary approximations are applicable to the full set of the Maxwell equations. Based on the respective subsets for the specific approximation, different formulations in terms of field quantities and potentials can be derived. According to the resulting type of partial differential equation, appropriate methods for the time-integration process required for the numerical solution need to be chosen. The paper gives a short overview of existing strategies, whereas a selected method is used to simulate a complex model as an example.
