Abstract :
Tracks from birds can form a significant component of the picture produced by a track processing system and are generally regarded as a nuisance. A knowledge of the feasible range of bird flight characteristics is a prerequisite to the successful development of discrimination techniques, but the information given in the standard radar references e.g. by Skolnik (1980) and by Barton (1988) has been superseded by other data which is surveyed in this paper.
