  • Abstract
A common, comprehensive definition of overall timing accuracy discussed is feasible and would be beneficial to ATE (automatic test equipment) manufacturers and users. can accuracy database derived from common definitions of timing accuracy can provide additional benefits beyond the bottom-line accuracy summary. A strong industry need to standardize the definition of ATE overall timing accuracy is emphasized. The definition must be comprehensive, general, and based on NBS traceability. The challenge will be to develop a standard specification that is applicable in the general case. This task may be simplified by developing separate standards for major classes of testers
