Abstract :
This document presents a sub-GHz radio mesh platform for the Internet Of Things, suitable for static devices as well as mobile devices moving in clusters. The scalability of this platform enables the mass-management of millions of devices located in hard-to-reach locations in urban as well as rural areas. A tool kit based on open standards (COAP, EXI, DTLS, Web Services, etc.), is presented to enable the creation of Value Added Services on top of this communication platform. The software design and hardware building blocks of this radio mesh platform result in lower CAPEX and OPEX costs for production deployments compared to other similar communication platforms for the IOT with the same level of IP connectivity and network bandwidth. A new licensing model is also presented which promotes openness and standardization.
