Abstract :
We propose a new formulation of the carrier tracking problem which leads to guaranteed global convergence carrier phase tracking approaches. These new approaches show much better performance than conventional techniques. Herein, the carrier tracking problem is shown to be equivalent to a blind source separation problem which involves the separation of a linear unitary mixture of two independent components which are the real and imaginary parts of the emitted signal. Hence, by using blind source separation procedures, one can derive new carrier tracking algorithms with guaranteed global convergence. Some numerical simulations are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
