Abstract :
We present the results of the experimental investigation of polarization properties of photoinduced long-period fibre gratings (LPFG) written in different types of optical fibres. We show that that the transmission spectra of LPFG written on the polarization maintaining fibres exhibit a splitting of the loss peaks. This phenomenon allows the fabrication of wavelength selective polarization filters. Also, we observed a photoinduced birefringence in the LPFG written in non-polarization maintaining fibres
