China Unicom: Innovative industry application of smart city — Intelligent transportation

Nowadays, the model of “government + service providers + content providers” in the industry chain of a smart city has been widely recognized. As operation and application providers, telecom operators play an important role in the industry. China Unicom, one of China´s telecom operators, announced that in the industry chain of a smart city, it would act as a provider of information and communications infrastructure, a supplier of the smart city´s cloud platform, and an aggregator of intelligence applications and basic information data. As a long-term goal, China Unicom will collaborate with the authorities to integrate the industry resources, aggregate intelligence applications, and then to build a win-win business model as well as a sustainable operating model, in order to realize “intelligence” in management and “smartness” in people´s livelihood and to create a smart future for cities.
