Abstract :
One of the main challenges in Grid is efficient discovery of resources to the tasks submitted by users. Due to the lack of centralized control and the dynamic nature of resource availability, any successful discovery mechanism should be highly distributed and robust to the change in the Grid environment. In this paper, a research of resource discovery in a Grid environment has made on theory. We present the theory of the existing resource discovery mechanisms and discussed the difference of different resource discovery, then point out their advantage and disadvantage. Finally the framework, resource discovery process and some key technology of the composite resource discovery mechanisms are discussed.
