Abstract
Order oriented production needs to solve the problem of conflict between customers´ individual orders and enterprises´ pursuit of maximum capability. In this paper, the concepts and methodology of an architecture for order oriented MES (OO-MES) is presented, which is component based framework for development of manufacturing execution system dedicated to iron and steel industry. Unified Modelling Language (UML) is used to specify the system model and components at a high level of abstraction. The methodology of progress management, which forms the core part of OO-MES and plays an important role in order oriented production, is introduced based on detailed business analysis at the end of this paper.
