    Long (40→100 cm) continuously chirped broadband fibre gratings are demonstrated and tested in a 10 Gbit/s NRZ standard fibre transmission system. Dispersion compensation for standard fibre lengths upto 125 km and over a 4 nm bandwidth is confirmed
