Abstract :
This paper describes a new method of chirped fibre Bragg grating fabrication for chromatic dispersion compensation. The technique consists in a constant pitch Bragg grating inscription within an accurately controlled slope of tapered fibre. Chromatic dispersion compensators manufactured are tested in a 10 Gbit/s system experiment. An error free transmission link of 150 km length has been performed
