Abstract
48 samples of sandy-rock mixture were tested and analyzed by means of a self-made vibratory compaction apparatus. the relationships between dry density, stone content, water content and longitudinal wave velocity, shear wave velocity, longitudinal-to-shear wave velocity ratio were further discussed of these samples. According to the experiment, linear correlation is significant not only in the relationship between shear wave velocity and dry density, but also in the relationship between longitudinal-to-shear wave velocity ratio and Poisson`s ratio. Furthermore, a detection standard was proposed for strength of foundation soil-rock on the basis of experimental longitudinal-to-shear wave velocity ratio; and a new approach was applied to evaluate strength of foundation soil-rock based on the viewpoint that using longitudinal and shear wave speeds can reduce dispersion of test result of a single wave test for foundation soil-rock.
