Abstract :
To solve the high accuracy fuel measurement problem in aeronautic application, a new type fuel sensor based on the theory of magnetostrictive is presented. The framework structure design of the sensor is discussed. Considering the difficult problems in aeronautic application environment, special structure for key parts of the sensor and efficiency detecting device is designed, and the optimization of the parameters of the detecting device is discussed. Finally, calibration experiments are completed. The results indicate that the accuracy of the magnetostrictive fuel sensor can reach below 0.18% FS. Potential applications are in many other high accuracy liquid-level measurement fields.
