  • Abstract
Aimed at the problem of water shortage for irrigation while encountering the extra draught year in Yinchuan plain, by using hydrogeological numerical model, this paper proposed a way of improving the proportion of well irrigation to ensure agriculture irrigation to the most extent during the extra draught year, and utilize the surface water for irrigation again in the following years while the Yellow River recovers to the normal situation. The result shows that, when the reduction in the water transfer from the Yellow River amounts to 1.023, 1.279 and 1.534 billion m3/a respectively, we can improve the proportion of well irrigation to 40%, 50% and 60% accordingly to solve the problem.
