Abstract :
This paper deals with the operating characteristics of linear induction motor (LIM) driven by space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) inverter according to reference scenario for speed control. Since the speed of LIM can be controlled by voltage and frequency variation, this paper constructed a variable voltage variable frequency (VVVF) controller based on digital signal processor (DSP). With suggested algorithm, the reference is modulated to control speed, and its related operating characteristics are analyzed. In addition, to improve the starting propulsion force maintaining stable acceleration characteristics, the boosted voltage/frequency ratio is suggested according to speed variation.
