Abstract
A new excitation method using a conformal conductive strip is proposed for excitation of dielectric resonator antenna (DRA). The hemispherical DRA is chosen for demonstration of the new excitation method. The moment method is used to solve for the unknown strip current from which the input impedance is found. Reasonable agreement between theory and experiment is obtained.
