Abstract
A modern tensorial approach to electromagnetic field theory in affine (3 + 1)-spacetime ℝ3 × ℝ is presented. In it, the electric field and source quantities occur as tensors of rank one (vectors) and the magnetic field and source quantities as antisymmetric tensors of rank two. The approach leads to considerable simplifications over the traditional electric/magnetic vector approach.
