Abstract
PLZT 8.75/65/35 ceramics modulators are developed for solid state infrared lasers used in medicine. The halfwave voltage Uλ/2 for the cw Nd:YAG (1.06 μm) laser DC mode electrooptic modulation is 1450 V, and the modulator size is 5×5×6 mm3. For Er:YAG pulse mode modulation, the modulator has a size of 4×6×18 mm3, and Uλ/2 is 1350 V with 300 V DC bias. By modulation, 150 μs long pulses with rise and decay times less than 5 μs can be achieved
