Abstract
A two-part project is described. The first part involves wire sample preparation using appropriate enamelling processes along with standard test procedures. The second part involves the evaluation of glass transition temperatures for all wire samples as received under the first part. Three different wire enamel types are applied by means of three different enamelling plants. For each of nine combinations of wire enamel and plant type, enamelled wire is produced in the possible range of enamelling speed in adequate steps. Standard test procedures are applied to these wire samples to establish the range of speed that makes it possible to produce acceptable wire. For each wire sample the glass transition is evaluated by means of standard techniques such as measurement of the dielectric dissipation factor (tan δ) versus temperature, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and thermomechanical analysis (TMA)
