Abstract
One of the most detrimental aspects of microstrip antennas despite their many advantages is narrow bandwidth. Even though numerous successful results have been reported, a bandwidth more than 20% is difficult to achieve. In this paper a new technique is introduced to increase the bandwidth of a microstrip antenna drastically using a leaky-wave concept. Experimental results are shown.
