Abstract
This document gives an overview of a research project realized by the Centre de Recherche Public - Gabriel Lippmann, with the aim to restructure the overall IT environment of the National Family Benefits Fund in Luxembourg. The focus of this text is on the practical experiences gained by introducing a service oriented architecture. After a rough overview of the initial heterogeneous application landscape, the proposed solution relying on integration and workflow management standards is exposed. The conclusion analyzes the benefits of the proposed solution and the problems encountered during the development and setup phase.
