Abstract :
With development of the distributed generation (renewable energy sources) and its integration in the electrical grid, there is a need for optimizing the position of their integration location in the grid. Location of the distributed generation depends on energy source and its availability at certain location. From the point of the grid, optimal location is the one on whose quantity and character of consumption correspond to planned production, with technical feasibility of such integration without interventions on the grid itself. Protection of the power grid represents obstacle because its protection isn´t built for distributed generation, but distributed consumption. Through analysis of the protection, it is possible to optimize the size of distributed generation with no intervention in protection system located in that part of the grid. Through performed measurements on various types of distributed generation units, it can be concluded that distributed generation does not have unfavorable influence on the quality of electrical energy at that part of the grid. This paper concludes that optimization of location of distributed generation in distribution grid is an important procedure, which with respecting all the conditions and limitations of the grid brings out quality solution for the future grid operations.
