Abstract :
A system level approach is presented for optimizing the static gain pattern of the multiple-beam receive (MBR) antenna (MBA) of a satellite, an important element of the antijam strategy for electronic counter-countermeasure (ECCM) communications in super-high frequencies. The minimum terminal effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) delta is used as the optimization metric for determining the MBR beamweights. It is shown that the optimization algorithm achieves system level performance goals such as maximum antijam margin and reserved gain. In addition, the algorithm allows the uplink terminal EIRPs to be selected as part of the beamweight selection process, whereas other algorithms typically require the EIRPs as inputs
