Abstract :
In recent years, in connection with growth of required power output of designed solar cell arrays to several tens and hundreds of kilowatts for orbital space stations (MIR, Alpha, etc.), and with increase in area of these arrays to hundreds of square meters, the problem of development of large-sized highly efficient silicon solar cells (SSC) has become urgent. In this paper, the results of development by the Kvant Scientific Production Amalgamation of large-sized SSC with an area up to 100 cm2 suitable for both terrestial and space power applications are presented. The designs of such large-sized SSC and their fabrication process from 125 and 150 mm wafers respectively have been developed
