Abstract :
In this paper, considered assessment is made of the potential of the photovoltaic (PV) technology in Mongolia. The authors describe the specific social-economic conditions of the pastoral livestock of Mongolia and show that PV power systems are the most suitable source of electricity and widely applicable for numerous different purposes. It is concluded that there is a significant market potential for use of PV power systems by the decentralized users of the Mongolian rural communities. Strategies for the future development of PV power technology in Mongolia are also discussed
