Abstract
In this paper a model of the human cerebral motor area is built and validated. The experimental data are collected by Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), i.e. by stimulating the brain motor area responsible of the left hand movements with a magnetic field, and measuring the evoked brain waves with a couple of electrodes implanted at C1-C2 vertebra levels. The model structure consists of a network of Izhikevich neurons, modeling both the motor cortex and the pyramidal tracts. Moreover, stimulus and measurement artifacts have been reconstructed and considered. The results achieved are fully satisfactory and confirm the suitability of the approach.
