Abstract :
The Romanian PV research programme initiated in 1980 has as its aim the development of the Romanian PV network from solar cells production to demonstration projects and commercial applications. Concerning the PV grid connected systems, the Romanian research programme is financed by the Romanian Ministry for Research and Technology. The paper sets out the main objectives and the related stages of this project, and presents aspects concerning the plant configuration, its component characteristics and preliminary results achieved. The aspects which are going to be developed in the following stages of the grid-connected PV plant implementation in Romania are also underlined
