Abstract :
In this present study, the palm oil nanoemulsion hydrogels were formulated and stability of palm oil nanoemulsion hydrogels were investigated. The nanoemulsion hydrogel formulations that passed through droplet size test were characterized for viscoelastic behaviour. The best formulation was the one with composition of 10% palm oil (5:1 PO:L1695), 4.67% glycerine, 0.5% Carbopol 934 and 82.83% de-ionised water. The composition is considered the best due to small droplet size (127.5±1.60nm) and, exhibited a stable range of zeta potential (-51.6±4.38mV) after being kept for three months at 4°C. Furthermore, the selected formulation gave a pleasant feeling upon application onto skin with a good structure stability and spreadability on skin based on the oscillation frequency sweep test.
