Abstract
Every substance has its own feature Raman spectroscopy (RS), which intensity is proportional to its concentration under certain condition. This is the basis of Raman spectroscopy to analyze the structure, components, concentrations and some other properties of samples. In order to research how to build up a Raman database of water pollutants, we detected some water pollutants and obtained their Raman spectrograms and Raman frequency excursion. As the data of Raman spectra need large space to store and long time to search. In this paper, wavelet packet transform was chosen to compress Raman spectra data. As result, we present the components of our Raman spectral database of some pollutants in water and the method for data compression. The present stage study and work are summarized and some future work is discussed.
