Abstract
In order to reveal disparity and its cause in medical care among Japanese prefectures, this paper describes how DEA works as follows: (1) DEA/BCC model estimates the disparity between prefectures, (2) "RM-DEA using Cone-Ratio approach" estimates the cause of the disparity, and (3) Improved MF-DEA (Multi-Frontier based DEA) model estimates the disparity between eastern and western Japan. This paper also illustrates three numerical experiments.
