Abstract :
An accurate eye location procedure is pre-requisite of automatic face location. A procedure is proposed at this regard. It requires an initial approximate location of the eyes by extracting the face from the image to be examined and by modeling its shape. Then a detailed description of the eye shape is obtained in the form of a labeled point model. The labels represent the local spatial information of characteristic points located on the boundary of the eye image. The proposed procedure is based on the comparison between the labeled eye model obtained for the input face image and a reference labeled eye model obtained for a particular face image. The performance of the proposed procedure is illustrated by several experimental results
