Abstract :
This paper evaluated the technical and environmental efficiency of chemical fertilizer (TEEf) input in agricultural production by DEA (Data Envelope Analysis) model, based on two years cross-section data collected in 2002 and 2006 by Price Department of National Development and Reform Commission in China (NDRC). The TEEf of three kinds of crops including Japonica rice, rapeseed oil and wheat were examined empirically. The conclusion shows that the technical and environmental inefficiency of chemical fertilizer input in agricultural production exists in the three kinds of crops, and the average loss of TEEf is more than 2%. By ameliorating the production of crops and adjusting institutional environment, TEEf in agricultural production will be improved.
