Abstract :
This paper will give an overview of how hazardous locations are defined and discuss protection methods to mitigate explosion risks in hazardous locations. This paper will also identify requirements applicable to each protection concept in North America, European Union and the rest of the world. Additionally, the paper will discuss the safety requirements and standards landscape for LED lighting.
