Abstract :
In this paper we introduce a connection selection scheme for multi-hop heterogeneous networks that enables a mobile terminal to select the best connection subject to the user requirements. Typical integration solutions have focused on network selection schemes for single-hop networks with multi-interface mobile terminals, while this paper provides a connection selection scheme for multi-hop networks with multi-interface mobile terminals. We also propose a pro-active handoff scheme that initiates the handoff procedure before the existing connection terminates based on the quality of an end-to-end path
