Abstract
3D reconstruction is to restore the information of a three-dimensional image based on the two-dimensional image sequences. 3D reconstruction is of great significance in medical and other aspects, and the importance of a good three-dimensional reconstruction algorithm is self-evident. There are mainly two techniques: surface reconstruction and volume reconstruction. We mainly discuss the three-dimensional image reconstruction using the surface reconstruction method in this paper. As the Me algorithm has been widely used because of its simplicity. We mainly analyzed the principle of the Me algorithm in this article, investigated some methods to improve the efficiency of this algorithm, and smoothed the triangular facets on the basis of the principle of the algorithm. Furthermore, we compared and analyzed the traditional Me algorithm against the improved algorithm; the results show that the improved algorithm can achieve better performance for surface reconstruction.
