Abstract :
The focus of this paper describes the research, design and development of a lever arm system to observe the dynamic properties of the rat rectus eye muscle. This lever arm system is a further study from the works of Fenn and Marsh, Close and Luff, and Enderle et al. The studies describe the properties associated with rat rectus eye muscle such as, force vs. velocity, lengthening vs. mass applied, and also distance vs. time. The data collected in this study will provide insight in the development of a muscle model while the muscle is in the lengthening mode
