  • Abstract
Successful design in the injection moulding industry is currently undergoing a revolution. The field of computer aided engineering (CAE) is changing rapidly with advances in computer hardware and software, “information highways”, computer graphics, and rapid prototyping technologies. Solid modelling is now being used as a much more fundamental vehicle for communicating geometric information. This paper seeks to outline the benefits of the solid model within the injection moulding industry in greater detail and to document its downstream technological benefits of it
