  • Abstract
The protection of a generator against a variety of fault and abnormal operating conditions requires a combination of protective functions. These functions, together with the associated scheme logic, can be integrated into a single protection package through the use of advanced numerical technology. This approach provides benefits in terms of reduced costs for scheme engineering, commissioning and routine testing. In addition, there is a reduction in the panel size and installation wiring requirements. This paper demonstrates the response of an integrated generator relay to a number of dynamic operating conditions. Various functions of the relay and its performance are illustrated through the analysis of records made during site trials and simulated conditions
