Abstract :
The telecommunications industry in Canada is experiencing tremendous change brought about by intensifying competition, technological change and increased bandwidth demands. This will impact telecommunication services delivered to rural and remote parts of Canada and Newfoundland in particular. It is recognized that a modern communications network is vital to our future. To bring such capabilities to the dispersed regions of Newfoundland presents opportunities and challenges. Moving forward confidently into the next millennium will require a concerted effort by all stakeholders working cohesively towards a common vision
