Abstract
Perforated plate matrix heat exchangers (MHE) are employed in applications that require high compactness (typically greater than 1500 m2/m3), high effectiveness (typically greater than 95%), and a small length (typically a few mm to a few hundred mm). There are no methods known in open literature for the complete sizing of the MHE. In this paper we, a method for the optimum sizing of MHE is presented. The results have been cross-checked using both local and global optimization methods.
