Abstract :
REMAP (retrotransposon-microsatellite amplified polymorphism) is a kind of molecular markers based on retrotransposons. In this study, the genetic diversity of 73 eggplant varieties was examined by REMAP molecular marker. Results showed that 1992 bands were amplified with seven primers designed according to the sequences of MAGGY, BARE-1 and Sukkularc, the ratio of polymorphic bands was 100%, the average number of bands per primer was 284.6. The result of POPGENE analysis indicated that Nei´s gene diversity H was 0.3641, Shannon´s information index was 0.5424, the highly diverse was displayed obviously. Nei´s similarity cofficients among the tested varieties ranged from 0.2115 to 0.9231. The relationships among the varieties were evaluated by UPGMA, showing that the tested eggplant varieties can be classified into eight groups on the molecular level. The REMAP clustering pattern of majority cultivated eggplant did not demonstrate relationship with fruit shape or fruit color.
