Abstract :
In this paper, a mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of the thermal behaviour of the paraffin slurry in a vertical rectangular channel are presented. A continuum model has been developed taking into account the energy balances of the phase change material (PCM) solid particles and the mixture as well to describe the temperature distribution and the local heat exchange between the slurry and the alcohol refrigerant liquid used in the heat exchanger. The comparison of calculated results with experimental values is used to improve the validity of the mixture model to describe the two phase flow behaviour of the stabilized paraffin slurry.
