  • Abstract
Soil samples (0-10cm soil layer) were collected from Xuanwei and Fuyuan, which were known as high lung cancer incidence area in Yunnan province, China. The aim of the study was to investigate the trace metal pollution situation of the local village. Total 24 samples of surface soil were analyzed for 32 trace metals. The samples were digested with HNO3 and HF and H2O2 using microwave. The concentrations of the elements were analyzed by ICP-MS. The results showed us the distribution of trace metals in different sites. The concentration variation trend of 6 hazard trace metals relative to cancer was consistent in different sample sites. Except the content of Ni, none heavy metals in samples exceeded the limit value of Chinese Environmental QualityStandard for Soils. But in some sites of high lung cancer incidence rate, the heavy metal pollution were serious such as Cu and Cr. Fuyuan was slightly metal polluted compared with Xuanwei.
