Abstract
The Genetic Information Gathering System is a new database created to bring together medical and Biological information. This search tool allows users to query a disease and receive information on the disease genotype and phenotype, plus associated images, potential drug treatments and more. The database is built and hosted on a Linux machine running Apache 2 Web server, PHP 5, and utilizing a PostgreSQL database. Beyond the programmed information, it has links to the Connectivity Map and Entrez , and the capability for user uploads. GIGS is accessible at http://www.dsm.fordham.edu/gigs/.
