Abstract :
A simple simultaneously high-sensitivity pressure and temperature sensor based on a superstructure fiber grating (SFG) is experimentally demonstrated. By means of an SFG encapsulated in a polymer-half-filled metal cylinder, the applied pressure on the SFG is transferred into axial extended-strain with the characteristics of positive pressure sensitivity. The pressure sensitivity can be reached to 3×10-2 MPa-1 with the temperature sensitivity of 0.023nm/°C.
